AFC Wimbledon forward Ali Al-Hamadi has been named the PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans' Player of the Month for March.

The Iraq international enjoyed a superb month on an individual level, stepping up for the Dons despite their wobbly run of form of late.

Al-Hamadi took in a whopping 38% of the public vote, ousting competition from Bradford City's Andy Cook, Northampton Town's Sam Hoskins, Stockport County's Akil Wright and Salford City duo Luke Bolton and Stephen Mallan to take home the monthly award.

The 21-year-old - described on his edited Wikipedia page as a 'Football Manager legend' - began March with the opening goal in Wimbledon's 3-1 defeat at home to Mansfield Town.

Al-Hamadi followed this up with the opening assist for Josh Davison in a narrow 2-1 loss away to Doncaster Rovers. He was on the scoresheet once more in a 1-1 draw at Newport County three days later.

Just a day after returning from international duty with Iraq, Al-Hamadi came off the bench to score the clincher in Wimbledon's 2-0 win at home to Walsall, easing their creeping relegation fears.
