Salford City midfielder Elliot Watt has won the PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans' Player of the Year award for the 2022/23 season.
The 23-year-old enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the Ammies, who narrowly missed out on promotion to League One following a breathtaking play-off semi-final with Stockport County.
Watt was sensational during his first season at the Peninsula Stadium following his summer move from Bradford City. He did not score in his 44 League Two games for Salford this year, but did manage to record a staggering 15 assists - no player in the division racked up more.
The race to take home the PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans' Player of the Year award was a mighty close one, with Watt only narrowly finishing ahead of Bradford's Andy Cook in the voting. The veteran forward scored 28 goals and provided eight assists in 46 games as the Bantams too were beaten in the play-offs.
One man who did achieve promotion was Paul Smyth, who scored 10 goals and laid on three assists as Leyton Orient won the title. The 25-year-old winger finished third in voting.
Only a handful of votes separated fourth-placed Owen Moxon of Carlisle United - who finished level with Watt in the assist charts and won the play-off final - and Northampton Town's Sam Hoskins.
Rounding off the voting in sixth was Stevenage's Carl Piergianni.
