Speaking post-match, Hernandez, who opened the scoring after five minutes at Al Bayt Stadium, dedicated this achievement to his brother Lucas after he had suffered a serious knee injury against Australia during the group stage.
"Playing two World Cup finals in a row is an incredible moment. We did a good job, it was hard, but we are in the final. We will work hard to win this final. I also have a great thought for my brother," the Milan left-back told TF1.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Kolo Muani, who enjoyed an easy tap-in after Kylian Mbappe's initial strike was blocked, added: "It's magic, I don't have the words to describe it. We have to give ourselves the means to go all the way.
"I'm still in my dreams, it's hard to wake up. I did well to follow Kylian, because he is the one who does all the work. I can be proud of my positioning. For the moment, I do not realise yet. We will all realise tomorrow morning."
Hernandez and Kolo Muani were not part of France's 2018 side and so are on the hunt for their first World Cup gold medals.
