Two Chelsea season ticket holders were lucky enough to receive a fully remote Stamford Bridge experience courtesy of Three.

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, supporters have been barred from entering the Blues' 115 year home since March. The Stamford Bridge faithful have missed a lot of great moments as well, including a terrific 4-0 thumping of Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in October and a win over Manchester City at the end of last season.

However, thanks to an innovative concept by Three - Chelsea's principal sponsors - lifelong supporters Dave and Cathie were transported Back to the Bridge via a series of projectors, television screens and immersive surround sound.

The couple, who were both born a stone's throw away from the stadium in St Stephen's Hospital, first met over 50 years ago in a paper shop. They are both lifelong Chelsea fans and have been really missing their regular trips to the Bridge.

"We haven’t been able to go back because of Covid and it’s not the same watching it on the television," they said.

"It’s like going home - Chelsea’s in our blood. People who don’t like football, they don’t get it at all. Stamford Bridge is amazing. There’s a good seven or eight of us all around and we all miss seeing each other. We look forward to when we can all get back."

Although it may be some time until Dave and Cathie get their wish of returning to the Bridge, Three gave them the next best thing - recreating the view from their normal seats to give the pair a much needed taste of normality.

Surrounded by all the familiar sights and sounds of a standard Stamford Bridge match day, the couple could not help but smile.
