Early in the game, Chelsea were dealt yet another injury blow to what's been an ailment plagued season for Graham Potter's men. The club captain Thiago Silva suffered a knock early on and was replaced by Wesley Fofana - a bitter blow for Chelsea heading into a crucial part of the season.

The first looked set to meander toward its conclusion without either team looking remotely capable of doing anything of note - that was until the third minute of added time at the end of the half when all hell broke loose.

Following a bust-up involving Hakim Ziyech, Emerson Royal, Kai Havertz and Richarlison, Ziyech was initially shown a red card for pushing Emerson in the face but after a lengthy VAR review the red card was rescinded.

And it's fair to say that people weren't particularly happy with Stuart Atwell's handling of the situation...

Immediately after the restart, Oliver Skipp gave Tottenahm Hotspur the lead with his first ever goal for the club.

The academy product latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and brilliantly thumped the ball into the roof of the net.

Despite going behind, Chelsea continued to look rather lifeless in the final third, failing to create anything of note throughout the second 45.

The Blues played like a team that were actually down to ten men.

Chelsea's misery was then compounded in the 82nd minute when Harry Kane latched onto an Eric Dier flick on at the near post to tap home Tottenham's second goal of the game.

Chelsea Twitter did the opposite...obviously:
