- Deal will be made permanent if undisclosed conditions are met
- Defender leaves Spurs after coming through academy ranks

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that homegrown defender Japhet Tanganga has signed for Bundesliga side Augsburg on an initial loan.
Tanganga's move to Germany will become permanent if certain conditions are met.
The 24-year-old was scarcely used by new head coach Ange Postecoglou during pre-season and did not feature in their opening three Premier League games. He has been continually linked with a move away from north London all summer and his exit has now been sealed.
A statement from Tottenham read: "Japhet Tanganga has joined Bundesliga side FC Augsburg on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season, with a conditional obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.
"An Academy graduate, the defender progressed through our ranks to make his first team debut in a Carabao Cup third round tie with Colchester United in September, 2019.
"In all competitions he has made 50 appearances in our colours."

Tanganga first became a regular first-team member under the management of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese coach handed him his Premier League debut against Liverpool in January 2020, claiming that his pace was necessary to try and combat the Reds' speedy frontline.
The defender quickly became a favourite of Nuno Espirito Santo when he was appointed as Mourinho's permanent successor for the 2021/22 season, winning the player of the match award for Tottenham's opening day win against Manchester City.
However, Tanganga has failed to truly kick on since and he is now set for a new adventure in Germany with Augsburg.
