Tottenham and Monaco set for fresh battle for Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo is expected to leave Fulham ahead of the expiry of his contract in the summer, with Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco set to fight for his signature, sources have confirmed to 90min.
The centre-back has worked his way back into the Whites' first-team fold in recent weeks and he notably scored the winning penalty in Tuesday's penalty shootout victory at Everton in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
Adarabioyo's deal is up at the end of June 2024 and Fulham are trying to persuade him to sign fresh terms at Craven Cottage, but 90min understands they are not close to an agreement and he is in line to leave the club.
While Adarabioyo could leave for free at the end of the campaign, there also remains a possibility he is sold during the January transfer window.
Tottenham and Monaco both held talks with Fulham over a deal for Adarabioyo during the summer 2023 window, but neither could agree terms with his current club and he stayed put.
90min has extensively reported of Spurs' priority to sign cover at centre-back this January, with Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly, Everton's Ben Godfrey, Union Saint-Gilloise's Koki Machida and Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo all under consideration.
Though Adarabioyo remains high on Tottenham's shortlist, they are at disadvantage to Monaco, who will be able to offer the defender a contract from January 1 onwards. Spurs must have a bid accepted by Fulham before legally progressing to personal terms.
In addition to Spurs and Monaco, 90min understands West Ham United, Atalanta, Lyon and Roma are all admirers of the 26-year-old.
Regardless of whether Tottenham do sign a centre-back in January, they will soon be boosted by the return of Micky van de Ven from a hamstring injury. The Netherlands international is set to return to action next month.
Nevertheless, Spurs will attempt to bring in another option at the heart of defence. In Van de Ven's absence, full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal have played in central roles.
