Tottenham need to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they host AC Milan in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday night.

Spurs were held off by the Rossoneri in the first leg, failing to conjure too many scoring opportunities as Brahim Diaz's seventh-minute strike settled proceedings.

Both teams come into the second part of the tie off the back of losses at the weekend and in danger of not qualifying for this competition next season.

Here's what you need to know ahead of a potential defining night for both sides in north London.

Tottenham team news

Eric Dier is suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards and was left out at the weekend in the defeat at Wolves. A back three of Ben Davies, Clement Lenglet and Cristian Romero is expected to feature as it did at the weekend.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will slot into midfield having missed the first leg, but Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ryan Sessegnon are all absent.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs AC Milan

Tottenham predicted lineup (3-4-2-1): Forster, Romero, Lenglet, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Kulusevski, Richarlison; Kane.

AC Milan team news

Goalkeeper Mike Maignan has played two games since returning from a long-term injury in what has been a major boost for Stefano Pioli.

Diaz, who provided the clinical touch to separate the two teams in the first leg, is facing a battle to be ready in time due to a knee sprain.

AC Milan predicted lineup (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Kjaer, Thiaw; Saelemaekers, Bennacer, Tonali, Hernandez; Leao, Krunic; Giroud.

Tottenham vs AC Milan score prediction

Tottenham have struggled for consistency throughout the season and recent meek performances don't suggest they're primed to overturn the first leg deficit here.

Milan will know the pressure is on their hosts to force a goal. With talents like Rafael Leao in attack, there's every chance they could strike on the break to put this tie to bed.

The first leg suggested there was little between the two sides, though it was hardly an entertaining watch. Both teams may get on the scoresheet but the Rossoneri should have enough steel to preserve their one-goal lead in the tie and reach the Champions League quarter finals.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 AC Milan
