Tottenham and Newcastle United are two clubs built on the notion of playing attractive and high-octane football.
That was particularly true in the early years of the Premier League, the Lilywhites and the Magpies often going toe-to-toe in some thrilling and high-scoring affairs.
Despite some difficult recent years, both Spurs and Newcastle have rediscovered their identities under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou and Eddie Howe respectively, with the two clubs competing in the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Newcastle 3-3 Tottenham - May 1995
One of Tottenham and Newcastle's first Premier League meetings was a six-goal thriller at St James' Park in 1995 - a game that, as the old saying goes, had a little bit of everything.
It looked like it may be a straightforward victory for the Magpies in the early stages of proceedings, Newcastle taking a two-goal lead within ten minutes thanks to headers from Keith Gillespie and Darren Peacock.
However, three goals in four first-half minutes would turn the game on it its head. Nick Barmby converted a wonderful Spurs move to pull one back for the visitors before Jurgen Klinsmann fired home a close-range effort. But Darren Anderton's third was the pick of the bunch, the Englishman rifling home a fierce strike from 25 yards directly into the top corner.
The drama was not over just yet. Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek was sent off after taking out Barmby in the box, and substitute goalkeeper Mike Hooper would come on and deny Klinsmann from the spot with his first touch of the ball. Tottenham's Colin Calderwood then proceeded to get a red card himself just ten minutes later.
Just several minutes after Calderwood's dismissal, Newcastle found an equaliser after Peter Beardsley capitalised on Sol Campbell's error.
Newcastle 7-1 Tottenham - December 1996
Victories don't come more emphatic than Newcastle's 7-1 demolition of Tottenham during the 1996/97 season, the Magpies running riot against a sorry Spurs side.
Newcastle were actually only two goals ahead at half-time, with the forward duo of Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand - who would later join Spurs - both getting themselves on the scoresheet. However, the Toon Army would enjoy themselves more in the second period.
Ferdinand grabbed his brace after the break before Rob Lee netted Newcaste's fourth just two minutes later. Lee then turned provider for Philippe Albert and Shearer to take the score up to six before netting his second of the match in the dying embers.
A late consolation goal from Allan Nielsen was a minor mercy for Spurs, who had suffered serious humiliation on Tyneside.
Tottenham 4-2 Newcastle - January 2001
Spurs' White Hart Lane victory over Newcastle during the 2000/01 season was a fiery and enthralling six-goal encounter. While Nolberto Solano gave the visitors the lead, the Peruvian international would quickly turn from hero to villain.
Goals from Gary Doherty and Anderton for Spurs swiftly turned things around in north London before Solano saw straight red just after the half-hour mark.
Sergiy Rebrov would offer Tottenham a two-goal cushion before half-time, but Neil Sullivan's sending off early in the second half offered the visitors a chance to reduce the deficit from the penalty spot. Kieron Dyer stepped up to slot the ball away, but would see red himself just four minutes after his goal.
With Newcastle now down to nine men, it was hardly surprising to see former Magpie Ferdinand pop up with a fourth for Spurs to secure the win.
Tottenham 5-0 Newcastle - February 2012
By half-time in this particular meeting between the sides at White Hart Lane, Spurs found themselves four goals to the good.
The Lilywhites were two up within just six minutes, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Louis Saha both scoring, with the latter adding a third shortly afterwards. Niko Kranjcar would grab a fourth, all of Spurs' first-half goals set up bu Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togo international would find the back of the net himself 20 minutes into the second half, Saha returning the favour for his strike partner.
Newcastle 6-1 Tottenham - April 2023
One of the marquee results of the new era at St James' Park came when Spurs arrived on Tyneside at the end of the 2022/23 season. In a quite stunning set of events, Newcastle found themselves five goals up within the opening 21 minutes of the game against a truly torrid Tottenham.
Joelinton's sixth-minute strike was sandwiched in between goals from Jacob Murphy, the second a truly remarkable dipping strike from distance. Alexander Isak would then grab a quickfire brace himself, the Swede punishing a slow Spurs backline.
Harry Kane would pull back the merest of consolations early in the second half, but Callum Wilson's strike would restore Newcastle's five-goal lead.
