Twitter reacts as Newcastle score 5 in first half against sorry Tottenham

If you've watched any amount of football in 2023, your prediction for Sunday's Newcastle United vs Tottenham game was probably 'Newcastle win'.
That utterance of 'Newcastle win' probably wasn't followed by '...by scoring five unanswered goals in the first half'.
And yet, amazingly, that's exactly what happened.
Inside the opening 21 minutes of the game, Newcastle had taken a rather astonishing five-goal lead.
The first of these goals came inside the opening minute, when Jacob Murphy stole in at the back post to tap home the ball after Hugo Lloris saved a Joelinton effort (yeah, Lloris actually made a save in this game).
MURPHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

Five minutes later it was 2-0, this time with Joelinton capitalising on Pedro Porro falling asleep and allowing him to steal in on goal, round the goalkeeper, and side-foot into the net.
It's fair to say that Tottenham fans were not happy with their January signing's showing at right-back...

Yea maybe don’t start Pedro Porro at the back ever again. Just a thought

Pedro Porro is horrific

Next up to embarrass themselves in a Tottenham shirt was Eric Dier, whose aimless pass into the midfield was latched onto by Fabian Schar before Murphy took it from the centre back and fired a wonderful effort into the bottom corner of the net.
Nine minutes gone - Newcastle 3-0 Tottenham.

We'd have to wait a frankly ridiculous ten minutes for Newcastle United's next goal.
That fourth would come from the in-form Alexander Isak, who capitalised on (you guessed it) some horrific defensive positioning from Tottenham to storm in and score his first of the game.

Thankfully the wait for a fifth wasn't as long as the wait for the fourth, with Isak scoring his second to make it 5-0 in the 20th minute.
21 minutes gone: Newcastle 5-0 Tottenham.

The defensive disaster-class was and lack of ability, desire, quality, passion, etc. shown by Tottenham Hotspur players made many fans ponder whether or not Antonio Conte was right about this group of players all along...
🇮🇹 Antonio Conte:

😡 "They are used to it here. They do NOT want to play under pressure. They do NOT want to play under stress. Tottenham's story is this. 20 years there is the owner & they never won something. Why!?"
