Twitter reacts to the Champions League last 16 draw
By Tom Gott
It's now full steam ahead to the Champions League last 16, with Monday's draw revealing the eight fixtures for the first knockout round.
There are some delicious matchups on offer. Manchester United will butt heads with Mauricio Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain while Bayern Munich collide with Atletico Madrid, but each tie looks like it'll be worth watching.
Here's how Twitter responded to the draw.
Benfica vs Real Madrid
The draw began well for Real Madrid fans, who were pretty happy to see their side pitted against Portugal's Benfica.
Benfica have been a little on-and-off this season, slipping behind Porto and Sporting in the race for the league title, and most Real supporters seemed pretty confident that they'll be in the quarter-final draw.
Villarreal vs Man City
After a bit of a mix-up that nearly had United facing Villarreal again, we finally had Manchester City's name pulled from the pot.
Just like the Real fans before them, City supporters were feeling pretty good about this.
Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich
The La Liga champions vs the Bundesliga champions. This one should be good.
Bayern are the favourites, as they always are, but underestimate Diego Simeone's men at your own peril.
RB Salzburg vs Liverpool
There's no denying that Salzburg have the smallest profile of any side left in the competition, and for that reason, Liverpool fans were delighted to see their name drawn against the Austrians.
This Salzburg side did, however, see off Sevilla, Wolfsburg and Lille to get here, so they're no pushovers.
Inter vs Ajax
Andre Onana's current employers vs his future side?
Picking a winner from this one really isn't easy. Ajax have been sensational in Europe this year, but Inter lost most of their key players and are still leading Serie A. These are two really good sides, and this could be the game of the round.
Sporting CP vs Juventus
Juventus' reward for pipping Chelsea to top spot in their group was a meeting with Portuguese giants Sporting CP.
Both sides can be among the best in Europe one week and the worst in Europe the next, so like Inter vs Ajax, this is one for the neutrals.
Chelsea vs Lille
Chelsea fans will be delighted with this draw. They came into it facing possible meetings with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Ajax, but instead, they ended up with Ligue 1 strugglers Lille.
It's the draw every Blues supporter wanted and the Stamford Bridge faithful are confident of going one step closer to retaining their European crown.
Man Utd vs PSG
The Pochettino derby.
Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi.
