Twitter reacts as Chelsea's loss to Southampton piles pressure on Graham Potter

Chelsea's woes continued against Southampton with the relegation-battlers winning 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon to put even more pressure on the struggling Graham Potter.
The big news ahead of kick-off was that Potter had dropped Mykhaylo Mudryk, with Mason Mount taking the place of the new signing in the starting XI, and given a start to David Datro Fofana.
It was the away side that made the stronger start, and while Chelsea grew into the game, they didn't take control for the entirety of the first half.
They were punished at the very end of it when James Ward-Prowse scored yet another free-kick to give his side the lead.

Thanks to his strike, manager-less Southampton went into the break level, and it was a fair scoreline in the eyes of many.
Seven changes, zero positives. Strong contender for Chelseaโs worst half of a miserable season #CFC

Given that, it was little surprise to see Potter make two changes for the final 45 minutes, with Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana being brought on.
Those changes had the desired effect initially as the Blues started to dominate proceedings, pushing for an equaliser and firing up the Stamford Bridge faithful in the process.
Well #CFC have started the second half better - not difficult. Fans behind the team. #CHESOU

For all of their hard work though, they couldn't find a goal, which led to Potter looking to his bench once again just after the hour mark.
Mount was one of the two players to come off, and supporters of his team weren't pleased with how he had performed to say the least, with the midfielder scarcely getting involved.
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Mason Mount was 0% on his ground duel battles (0/6), tackles attempted (0/1), successful take-ons (0/2) and accurate crosses (0/1). Kepa Arrizabalaga completed more passes (14/14) than Mason Mount (5/9) for Chelsea against Southampton.

Even with Mudryk and Kai Havertz on though, Chelsea still couldn't break through, which was made all the more concerning by the fact that this was a Southampton side that had rarely been able to prevent opponents from scoring in recent times.
Southampton have just one clean sheet in 28 matches...

With the game nearing its end, it began to look certain that Potter would suffer yet another poor result, but attention turned away from the football when, in the final ten minutes, Cesar Azpilicueta was kicked in the head.
There was real concern for the Spaniard from all sides, but he was at least well enough to applaud the fans as he was stretchered off.
Cesar Azpilicueta had to be stretchered off the pitch after taking a kick from Sรฉkou Mara.

The incident gave Chelsea eight minutes of added time to find a goal, but while they took plenty of shots, they weren't able to put one in the back of the net for the second match in a row.
Chelsea have taken 38 shots in their previous two matches. They have scored zero goals. #CFC

After the full-time whistle was blown, attention immediately turned to the future of Potter, who has made an extremely poor start to life at the club.
Up until now, he has at least been able to count on the support of many fans, but the loss to Southampton may have changed that.
Canโt back this at all. Absolutely disgraceful.

With the results the club is getting, supporters of the Blues are starting to get the blues themselves.
Supporting Chelsea is not good for my health. Week in week out I go with a positive mind thinking we will win but every time Chelsea find ways to disappoint. I donโt want to say anything negative as it doesnโt help, but this has been a depressing last few months. #CHESOU

Chelsea managers have been given the sack for runs of form nowhere near as bad in the past - will Todd Boehly prove more merciful than Roman Abramovich?

Graham Potter you are an absolute disgrace. Todd Boehly if you donโt sack him you are spineless. Get over your ego.
