Twitter reacts as Erik ten Hag is announced as next Man Utd manager
It's finally been announced: Erik ten Hag will become the next manager of Manchester United Football Club.
The appointment was confirmed on Thursday, with Ten Hag set to take the reins from interim manager Ralf Rangnick ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
The current Ajax manager has signed a three-year deal with the option for a fourth, with United paying £1.7m to release him from his contract in Amsterdam a year early.
Suffice to say, United fans were pretty pleased with the news...
Although some fans aren't convinced of the Dutchman's credentials - or those of the team he is about to inherit...
Others praised Rangnick's contribution to the hiring process as interim boss.
What's clear is that United fans are now raring for this season to end and the new era under Ten Hag to get underway. The Red Devils are currently lagging behind in the battle for a top four place.
Ten Hag said: "It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.
“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United.”
