The UEFA Nations League fixtures roll around twice a month but it's still pretty easy to get overwhelmed, or certainly confused as to whether the game's a friendly or semi-competitive Nations League clash.

Nevertheless, the final matchday of the 2020/21 iteration of the competition is upon us, with places in next year's finals, promotions and survival all up for grabs.

Now, any sane person wouldn't be up to date with the state of play heading into matchday six but fortunately, here at 90min, we're providing you with a full run-down of Tuesday's and Wednesday's fixtures and each group's permutations.

Let's take a look.

1. League A

A1

Matchday Six Fixtures: Bosnia & Herzegovina (2pts) vs. Italy (9), Poland (7) vs. Netherlands (8)

Italy's 2-0 triumph over Poland means they now top the group and they'll advance to the finals with a victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina - who have been relegated.

Failing that, a draw will be good enough if the other fixture ends all-square or if the Netherlands don't beat Poland.

The Netherlands will qualify if they beat Poland and Italy lose to Bosnia.

An Italy defeat to Bosnia combined with a Poland victory over the Netherlands will see the Poles through.

A2

England (7) vs. Iceland (0), Belgium (12) vs. Denmark (10)

Belgium's victory over England on Sunday means they're in a great position to qualify for next Autumn's finals. The Red Devils need to avoid defeat against Denmark on Wednesday to do so.

Denmark have to beat Belgium to reach the finals.

England and Iceland play out a damp squib with the Three Lions already finishing third and Iceland condemned to relegation.

A3

Croatia (3) vs. Portugal (10), France (13) vs. Sweden (3)

France reached the finals following victory in Portugal last time out, with Portugal finishing in second.

The battle for survival, however, is an intriguing one.

Croatia will survive if they pick up more points than Sweden. Should the sides finish level on points, they'll be separated by goal difference then goals scored.

Currently, both nations boast a -6 goal difference but Croatia have scored four more goals.

A4

Spain (8) vs. Germany (9), Switzerland (3) vs. Ukraine (6)

Draw or victory for Germany in Spain will see them qualify for the finals.

A Spain triumph means they'll top the group at the expense of the Germans.

Buckle up for the relegation situation, folks.

Ukraine will be relegated if they lose to Switzerland 1-0, 2-1 or by a margin of two goals or more.

Switzerland will be relegated unless they beat Ukraine 1-0, 2-1 or by a margin of two goals or more.

Got it? Grand.

2. League B

B1

Austria (12) vs. Norway (9), Northern Ireland (1) vs. Romania (4)

UEFA continues to deliberate on how to allocate points for the recently postponed Romania vs. Norway.

B2

Israel (5) vs. Scotland (10), Czech Republic (9) vs. Slovakia (4)

The Czech Republic need to beat Slovakia to stand any chance of promotion. Otherwise, Scotland will move up a league.

Israel will be relegated if they do not beat Scotland and Slovakia beat the Czech Republic.

Slovakia will be relegated unless they beat the Czech Republic and Israel do not beat Scotland.

B3

Serbia (3) vs. Russia (8), Hungary (8) vs. Turkey (6)

Russia are promoted with a victory over Serbia, who'll be relegated unless they win and Turkey lose to Hungary.

Turkey, meanwhile, head into matchday six knowing that both promotion and relegation are possible.

Victory against Hungary combined with a Russia defeat sees them promoted, but defeat in their fixture along with a Serbia triumph means they'll succumb to League C.

Hungary will be promoted with a win and Russia fail to match their result, or if they draw and Russia lose.

B4

Ireland (2) vs. Bulgaria (1), Wales (13) vs. Finland (12)

The two home nations represented in B4 are vying for separate things on Wednesday.

Wales will earn promotion if they avoid defeat against Finland, while Ireland need at least draw with Bulgaria to maintain their status in League B.

A win for Finland will see them advance at the expense of the Welsh.

3. League C

C1

Luxembourg (9) vs. Azerbaijan (5), Montenegro (10) vs. Cyprus (4)

C1 is bloody complex so take a minute.

Montenegro are promoted if they beat Cyprus, who will fall into the relegation play-outs unless they're victorious and Azerbaijan fail to beat Luxembourg.

Azerbaijan maintain their status in League C with a win or if Cyprus lose or draw.

Luxembourg need a win and Cyprus to get a result to get promoted.

If both games are drawn, Montenegro will top the group.

C2

Armenia (8) vs. North Macedonia (9), Georgia (6) vs. Estonia (2)

While Georgia's third-place finish and Estonia's relegation have been confirmed, top spot and promotion are still up for grabs in C3.

Armenia will earn promotion with a victory over North Macedonia, who just need to avoid defeat on Wednesday to advance up to League B.

C3

Kosovo (2) vs. Moldova (1), Greece (11) vs. Slovenia (13)

It's all to play for in C3.

Greece take on Slovenia knowing that victory will earn them promotion, while their opponents only have to avoid defeat to advance up a tier.

In the battle to avoid the bottom league, Kosovo will be safe unless they lose to bottom-placed Moldova.

C4

Kazakhstan (4) vs. Lithuania (5), Albania (8) vs. Belarus (10)

A win or draw for Belarus in Albania will see them promoted but an Albanian triumph will see them advance at the expense of their opponents.

Then it's a shoot-out in the other contest to see who will go into the play-outs. A draw, though, will mean Lithuania are safe.

4. League D

D1

Malta (8) vs. Faroe Islands (11), Andorra (2) vs. Latvia (4)

Okay, we're really into minnows territory now.

Faroe Islands will be promoted unless they lose to Malta 1-0, 2-1, or by a margin of two goals or more.

Malta will be promoted if they beat the Faroe Islands 1-0, 2-1, or by a margin of two goals or more.

Both Latvia and Andorra will remain in League D.

D2

Gibraltar (7) vs. Liechtenstein (4)

A simple one to finish.

Gibraltar will be promoted if they avoid defeat by Liechtenstein.

Liechtenstein will be promoted if they beat Gibraltar.

San Marino have finished third.
