USMNT names 24-player roster for Concacaf nations league matches
- USMNT host Trinidad & Tobago on November 16 at Q2 Stadium in Austin
- Then travel to Port of Spain for the second leg just four days later
- Timothy Weah and Christian Pulisic notably missing from the squad
United States men’s national team head coach Gregg Berhalter named the 24-player roster for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals matches against Trinidad & Tobago, with Gio Reyna and Folarin Balogun headlining the squad.
The American side will first host their rivals on November 16 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas before traveling to Trinidad & Tobago for the second leg just four days later. The USMNT must win the series to qualify for the semifinals and earn a coveted spot in the 2024 Copa America.
"The objective ahead of us is clear. We want to compete for our third Nations League title and the chance to play in Copa America, and it’s going to take focus and determination to get past Trinidad & Tobago," Berhalter said.
"We have had a core group together for the last two windows in preparation for this opportunity, and we want to finish the year on a strong note and position ourselves to compete in two important competitions next year."
The roster boasts 12 players that formed part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup roster, and 15 that helped the United States clinch the second consecutive Concacaf Nations League title this past June.
Christian Pulisic and Timothy Weah are notably missing from the roster, as the two remain on the sidelines due to injury.
