Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has confirmed his desire to play in the Premier League in the future but has stressed his commitment to his current side.
Osimhen is a long-term target for Chelsea, who are searching for a solution to their goalscoring woes in 2024, while Arsenal are also known admirers of the Nigeria international, who recently signed a new contract with Napoli which includes a release clause worth over £100m.
His contract extension appeared uncertain earlier this season when Osimhen was the subject of an insulting post on social media from Napoli's own account, but tensions were soon smoothed and Osimhen inked a fresh deal.
"I am happy with the president [of Napoli]," Osimhen told Sky in Italy. "I have a good relationship with him, I cannot lie, he has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also. It is always important for me to make sure there is nothing wrong, regardless of what has happened, with the relationship with him and his family.
"He has been supportive of me outside the pitch and of course I give my all trying to win the Scudetto with them."
Quizzed on a potential switch to England, Osimhen confessed: "Of course one day, definitely, but for now I have other plans in my career I am looking forward to. When the time comes, everyone will know."
Osimhen has previously admitted that he had shirts from both Chelsea and Manchester United when he was a child - although he rejected the chance to sign for the Red Devils in 2020 amid concerns over the pathway to first-team football available to him.
There will be no doubts about the opportunities on the table in the coming months, however. Now established as one of the world's top strikers, Osimhen has plenty of suitors but his price tag will undoubtedly limit the teams who can feasibly strike a deal to sign him.
Chelsea are expected to continue their pursuit of Osimhen beyond the January transfer window, while Arsenal are also likely to explore their options at striker.
