A massive game at the foot of the table takes place on Saturday afternoon, as Watford host Burnley at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets' destiny is becoming increasingly evident every week, with a run of six defeats in their previous seven Premier League outings leaving them a whopping nine points adrift of safety - a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City last time out won't have done morale any favours.

The side they're trying to catch in 17th is Burnley who, since parting ways with Sean Dyche, have done fantastically well. In Mike Jackson's three games at the helm, the Clarets are unbeaten, winning against Southampton and Wolves without conceding since drawing 1-1 with West Ham.

Here's 90min's preview of this relegation blockbuster.

Watford team news

Roy Hodgson is still without Cucho Hernandez and Kwadwoh Baah, although Nicolas N'Koulou could be back in contention to start after returning from injury to make the bench for his side's trip to Manchester.

Elsewhere, Juraj Kucka and Kiko Femenia have been dealing with knocks but should be fit enough to feature, while Samuel Kalu and Francisco Sierralta could return as well.

Burnley team news

Maxwel Cornet is also doubtful for the visiting side as he battles a knee injury. His absence would be a big blow, although Aaron Lennon would likely deputise if the Ivorian doesn't pass his late fitness test.

Meanwhile, Burnley will have to make do without Ben Mee, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Erik Pieters and Ashley Westwood, all of whom were joined in the treatment room by Jay Rodriguez, who will miss out on this weekend's clash after being forced off midway through the second half last time out.

Watford vs Burnley prediction

Despite a fairly lengthy injury list containing quite a few first-team regulars, Burnley have bounced back from poor form and the departure of a cult hero remarkably well.

The spirit they've shown in recent weeks has given them wings to pull out of the relegation zone, where Watford still languish.

In truth, the Hornets' chances of coming close to staying up are rapidly fading away and, coming up against an on-song Clarets side, this weekend might just seal their fate.

Prediction: Watford 0-1 Burnley
