Welcome to Wrexham theme song
- Wrexham AFC was promoted to League One for the 2024/25 season
- Welcome to Wrexham is renewed for Season 4
- The docuseries already has five Emmy awards
Although the Welcome to Wrexham theme song often changes over the course of a season, one song dominates the show's soundtrack more than any other.
When Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham AFC for just $2.5 million in 2020, they never imagined just how quickly their passion project would turn into a worldwide spectacle. Not only have the Red Dragons earned back-to-back promotions, putting them in League One for the 2024/25 season, but they are also the stars of the Emmy award-winning docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham.
The FX show gives unprecedented access to Wrexham AFC and its players as they battle both on and off the pitch every season. The gripping storytelling highlights the unsung heroes of the club and the city of Wrexham, and nothing embodies the spirit of the Red Dragons more than the series' theme song.
Welcome to Wrexham theme song
The main Welcome to Wrexham theme song is "Don't Forget (Welcome to Wrexham)" by Jon Hume. The song is the most common sound used during the short title sequence in the series ever since Season 2.
Check out the lyrics to the featured snippet of the song in Welcome to Wrexham:
"Don't forget where you came from
Don't forget what you're made of
The ones who were there
When no one else would care
Don't be afraid to cry now
Even when the world comes crashing in
Don't forget to sing when you win
Don't forget to sing when you win"
Hume's track does not always play during the title sequence in the series, though. In fact, "Everyday" by Buddy Holly was the soundtrack to Season 1.
Also, the Season 3 premiere uses Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" to kick off the first episode, followed by a more somber instrumental in Episode 2, aptly titled, "The Quiet Zone." Fans of "Don't Forget (Welcome to Wrexham)" must wait until Episode 3 to hear the theme song.
It will be interesting to see if the producers stick with Hume's song for Season 4, or if the series takes on another new sound in 2025.
