West Brom 0-1 Tottenham: Player Ratings as Harry Kane Scores 150th Premier League Goal in Late Win

Tottenham continued their run of solid if unconvincing results as a late 1-0 victory over West Brom on Sunday took them to the top of the Premier League table.

In a pretty drab game, Spurs left it late as Harry Kane flicked in Matt Doherty's cross for his 150th Premier League goal, helped by Baggies goalkeeper Sam Johnstone's indecision.

While Son Heung-min might have opened the scoring after Tanguy Ndombele found him in space, West Brom were in control for large periods of the game and both Conor Gallagher and Darnell Furlong came close to breaking the deadlock.

With late misses from Carlos Vinicius and Giovani Lo Celso, it looked as if a draw was inevitable, but Kane towered above Kyle Bartley to get on the end of Doherty's looping cross to break the hearts of Baggies and put Spurs - however briefly - at the top of the league table.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Sam Johnstone (GK) - 5/10 - Made a great save from Carlos Vinicius but was undoubtedly culpable for Kane's late winner which looped over him.

Darnell Furlong (RB) - 6/10 - Gave Reguilon something to think about for much of the first half but faded somewhat in the second as the Spaniard became more confident. Was unlucky not to score from a Filip Krovinovic corner.

Semi Ajayi (RCB) - 7/10 - A clumsy late challenge on Lo Celso notwithstanding, was a real obstacle for Reguilon and the anonymous Son for the majority of the game.

Kyle Bartley (CB) - 5/10 - Couldn't get in front of Kane for his goal. A menace from set-pieces and was practically a centre forward at the end.

Dara O'Shea (LCB) - 5/10 - Came close to scoring and was effective in tracking Bale, but played Kane onside for his winner and got in a muddle for Son's chance in the first half.

Conor Townsend (LB) - 6/10 - A solid and unremarkable performance, though the goal did come down his side.

2. Midfielders

Conor Gallagher (CM) - 7/10 - You could tell he was a Chelsea loanee. West Brom's midfield contained Spurs so well and a combative (at times, slightly illegal) shift from Gallagher was an enormous component.

Jake Livermore (CM) - 7/10 - Broke up play excellently, got his head in the right places and made life difficult for his old side. Substituted for Kyle Edwards.

Filip Krovinovic (CM) - 8/10 - West Brom's biggest threat, his set-pieces were on the money every single time and helped his teammates to test Lloris on multiple occasions.

3. Forwards

Callum Robinson (ST) - 7/10 - A real positive for West Brom in the first half as he got up and down the wing and stuck in some excellent crosses. Substituted for Grady Diangana.

Karlan Grant (ST) - 6/10 - If his finishing had just been a little bit better he could've decided the match. Was the proverbial thorn in the side of the Spurs defenders until he was taken off for Matt Phillips.

4. Substitutes

Grady Diangana - 6/10 - Stuck in some tasty crosses and added some directness to Spurs' play.

5. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Hugo Lloris (GK) - 6/10 - Hot and cold. He was still as a statue for Gallagher's second half shot, but also made a stunning save from Furlong.

Matt Doherty (RB) - 7/10 - Absolutely anonymous for the entire match and woeful on the ball - then he swings in the perfect game winning cross for Kane. Football, eh?

Toby Alderweireld (CB) - 6/10 - Very little to report from a player who was generally solid throughout.

Eric Dier (CB) - 8/10 - Who had an Eric Dier revival on their bingo card? His header off the line in the first half was decisive and he was outstanding in the air throughout.

Sergio Reguilon (LB) - 8/10 - Tottenham's best player. Probably lucky not to get booked in a first half where he seemed to struggle with Furlong, but was stunning in the second, attacking the left flank relentlessly and coming close to setting up the match winner on two occasions.

6. Midfielders

Moussa Sissoko (CM) - 5/10 - Has been erratic at times this season as he racks up the mileage in his legs, and was pretty quiet on the ball.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - 6/10 - Solid as always but could have given Spurs a little bit more ball progression where necessary.

Tanguy Ndombele (AM) - 7/10 - Another really bright game for the Frenchman as he adds to his repertoire of impressive performances. Tottenham's most threatening outlet for the first hour, coming close to setting up Son with a balletic flick. Substituted for Giovani Lo Celso.

7. Forwards

Gareth Bale (RW) - 6/10 - On the ball - very nice. Off the ball - about a month off where he needs to be. Substituted for Lucas Moura after another mixed game.

Harry Kane (ST) - 8/10 - Is he back to his old self, or is he better than he's ever been? Either way, his 150th Premier League goal was the dictionary definition of towering, getting on the end of Doherty's cross to mark a momentous milestone.

Son Heung-min (LW) - 5/10 - Spurs look worryingly blunt when one of Kane or Son is subdued, and the South Korean forward's early miss, where he took way too much time over Ndombele's flick, could have haunted Spurs.

8. Substitutes

Giovani Lo Celso - 6/10 - Missed an absolute sitter but brought a general air of positivity to Spurs' play.

Carlos Vinicius - 6/10 - Came close to opening the scoring but saw his show saved by Johnstone.
