From the London Stadium - Quite a game in east London on Sunday, then.

David de Gea's penalty save from Mark Noble in the dying seconds of Manchester United's trip to West Ham earned the visitors all three points at the London Stadium, after former Hammers loanee Jesse Lingard scored what turned out to be an unbelievable late winner.

Said Benrahma had put the hosts ahead in the first half, before Cristiano Ronaldo replied almost instantly with his fourth goal in three games since returning. Ronaldo saw three penalty appeals turned down before the hosts' late spot kick award.

We saw traits typical of both teams in the first half. Well-drilled, good energy from the hosts and chances created, and from United some lapses in concentration, dodgy defensive positioning and big players making the difference when needed.

The Hammers spurned a number of chances through the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Nikola Vlasic, but did open the scoring on the half hour as Benrahma, unmarked on the edge of the box, saw his shot deflect in off Raphael Varane. United's instant response came from Ronaldo, who turned home at the second attempt following a pinpoint cross from Bruno Fernandes.

The game took a pattern of United pinning the hosts back after the break, while West Ham counter attacked dangerously where possible. Ronaldo blew an early second-half chance after a mistake by Vladimir Coufal, and later saw all of his appeals brushed aside by the officials.

Lingard popped up in the 89th minute with the winner before further drama, when Luke Shaw was was punished for a handball at the other end.

Here's your player ratings for both teams...

West Ham player ratings

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Lukasz Fabianski (GK) - 6/10 - Excellent fingertip save onto the post from Fernandes mid way through the first half, but maybe should've collected Ronaldo's first attempt for the equaliser.

Vladimir Coufal (RB) - 6/10 - A good strong outlet down the right hand side for the hosts, but did make a lapse or two.

Kurt Zouma (CB) - 6/10 - Has made a decent start to West Ham life.

Angelo Ogbonna (CB) - 6/10 - Decent outing.

Aaron Cresswell (LB) - 7/10 - Like Coufal on the other side, got forward at the right times and used the ball well.

2. Midfielders

Declan Rice (CM) - 8/10 - Imperious as ever. As well as being an actual giant, he can pass, run, and do everything you'd need from a modern central midfielder. You can see why he's so valuable.

Tomas Soucek (CM) - 7/10 - Operated well with Rice in the middle, which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to match with his own team selection.

Said Benrahma (AM) - 7/10 - Opened the scoring with a goal from the edge of the box, via a deflection.

3. Forwards

Pablo Fornals (RW) - 6/10 - Neat and tidy, apart from his poor pass in his own half which set up a huge chance for Ronaldo.

Jarrod Bowen (CF) - 8/10 - A true nuisance for United all game. Full of energy and a threat with the ball too. Forced a save from De Gea in the first half and carried the attack well, popping up in a number of positions across the front.

Nikola Vlasic (LW) - 6/10 - Missed a glorious first half chance, blazing over the bar.

5. Goalkeeper & defenders

David de Gea (GK) - 9/10 - THIS MAN SAVED A PENALTY. IN THE LAST MINUTE. HE DOESN'T SAVE PENALTIES.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) - 6/10 - You can see he's trying to work on his output from wide positions, but still looks uneasy. It'll take him some time.

Raphael Varane (CB) - 7/10 - The ball deflected off him for the opening goal, but has a habit of being in the right place at the right time to snuff out attacks.

Harry Maguire (CB) - 6/10 - Caught on the ball early on as two West Ham attackers sniffed that they could pickpocket him. They did. Didn't get too much better.

Luke Shaw (LB) - 7/10 - Good energy to get up and down, and has a habit of coming in field to drive forwards now too.

6. Midfielders

Bruno Fernandes, Declan Rice

Scott McTominay (CM) - 6/10 - Absolutely no surprise he was brought back in, and had some moments looking off the pace but also played some nice passes forward.

Fred (CM) - 6/10 - McFred is back and there's nothing you can do about it.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - 8/10 - Picked up pockets of space out wide and distributed the ball better than anybody else - whether passing or crossing. Seems to be enjoying the role of Ronaldo-supplier, and provided the ball in for the equaliser. Unlucky not to score with a sweet half volley.

7. Forwards

Christiano Ronaldo

Mason Greenwood (RW) - 6/10 - Didn't quite have the impact he'd have liked. Showed flashes and some good touches but replaced in the 72nd minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - 7/10 - A genuine goal threat any time he gets the ball, which is what United knew they were buying. Scored his fourth goal since returning and his first thought is always score - United need more of that.

Paul Pogba (LW) - 6/10 - Struggled to get into the game in an attacking sense. Replaced by Sancho.

8. Substitutes

Jesse Lingard, Scott McTominay

Jadon Sancho - 6/10 - Didn't affect the game too much after coming on.

Jesse Lingard - 9/10 - It had to be him. Introduced for the final period of the game and pulled out a moment of absolute magic to earn the points. What a hit.

Nemanja Matic - 7/10 - Came on and assisted Lingard's winner.
