West Ham predicted lineup vs Newcastle - Premier League
By Max Parsons
West Ham host Newcastle on Saturday afternoon looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
The Hammers relied on Craig Dawson's last-gasp equaliser to salvage a 2-2 at Leicester last time out and although that followed a victory against Watford, it was just their fourth point in four league fixtures.
Sitting fifth in the table, David Moyes' men face a resurgent Newcastle side that have won their previous three in the Premier League.
Here's how the Hammers could line up.
West Ham predicted lineup vs Newcastle
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Lukasz Fabianski (GK) - The 36-year-old has missed just one Premier League fixture so far this campaign despite the competition from Alphonse Areola.
Vladimir Coufal (RB) - Should be in line for a 14th consecutive league start here.
Craig Dawson (CB) - His 91st-minute equaliser earned West Ham a point at Leicester last week. That, along with Angelo Ogbonna's continued absence, should see him start this one.
Kurt Zouma (CB) - Wasn't involved in that 2-2 draw through illness but should be back ready to play this weekend.
Ben Johnson (LB) - Aaron Cresswell put in a heinous performance at the King Power so he may be afforded a rest, leaving the door open to young Johnson.
2. Midfielders
Tomas Soucek (CM) - A real stalwart in the West Ham engine room, the tall Czech has appeared in all but four of his side's league games since his arrival in January 2020.
Decline Rice (CM) - Has hit another level this term and will undoubtedly skipper the Hammers for the 25th time in the Premier League this season.
Pablo Fornals (AM) - There's been a bit of chopping and changing with the three players surrounding the front man, but Moyes could opt to put Fornals in the number ten role this weekend.
3. Forwards
Jarrod Bowen (RW) - In sensational form at the moment, registering eight goals and four assists in his previous 11 appearances across all competitions. Gave quite an interview with 90min recently too, if you want to go and check that out.
Michail Antonio (ST) - Has lost his early-season goalscoring touch somewhat, only notching two since the start of November.
Said Benrahma (LW) - Left on the bench last time out but could come back into the fold in place of Manuel Lanzini.
