The new Europa League format has already thrown up some wonderful drama and there is a fresh round to look forward to with clubs discovering their round of 16 opponents.
The knockout round play-off ties threw up some superb fixtures such as Manchester United vs Barcelona, AS Roma vs Red Bull Salzburg and Monaco vs Bayer Leverkusen.
Due to the format change, there are eight teams waiting in the round of 16 that won their Europa League groups, one of which is Arsenal.

What happened in the 2022/23 Europa League knockout round play-offs?
Some big teams saw their European journeys come to an end on Thursday night in the knockout round. The likes of Barcelona, Ajax, Monaco and PSV were all dumped out of the tournament with a couple of smaller sides making it through.

When are the 2022/23 Europa League round of 16 ties?
There is only a short wait for the Europa League round of 16 ties to take place. The first legs will be played on Thursday 9 March. The second legs will be on Thursday 16 March just a week later.
The seeded teams who won their Europa League groups will play their away leg first and then try to secure victory in the tie in front of their own fans at home.
