When were Leicester last relegated?

The Foxes then had the chance to ruin Arsenal's parade on the final day of the season as they visited Highbury with the Gunners looking to wrap up their unbeaten season. Leading scorer Paul Dickov gave Leicester a surprise lead, but Arsenal responded with goals from Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry to win 2-1.

That defeat left Leicester in 18th with 33 points with Everton finishing six points ahead in 17th.

How many times have Leicester been relegated from the Premier League?

Relegation is hardly a novel concept for Leicester supporters. Since the inauguration of the Premier League, the Foxes have been relegated from the top tier three times (1994/95, 2001/02 & 2003/04).

Leicester sunk to greater depths in 2008 when they dropped down another tier before they quickly returned to the Championship following a swift stint in League One. Nigel Pearson got the club back into the top flight in 2014 and they've remained in the Premier League since after miraculously escaping relegation during their first season back in the big time.

It's been a wretched season for the Foxes, and they've amassed just 31 points from their 37 games thus far. As a result, they're in need of help on the final day. They must beat West Ham at the King Power to have any chance of survival, but they also need Bournemouth to take points off Everton at Goodison Park.

The Cherries are safe and have lost their last three since securing their status in the Premier League for another season. Thus, Leicester's survival hopes are slim, and many have resigned themselves to the idea of the Foxes competing in the second tier next season.
