Where is Ted Lasso filmed?
Ted Lasso has captured the imaginations of Apple TV subscribers and the multi Emmy Award-winning series is poised to return for a third season in 2023.
The AFC Richmond coach has transformed from the football goof that barely understood the sport into a philosophical behemoth. Sure, Ted Lasso may never come to grips with the offside rule, but his ability to draw the very best out of those he surrounds has facilitated a smooth transition into the English game.
Now, as you might've realised, AFC Richmond is not a real football team. However, all the sporting facilities they use in the show are very much legitimate and Premier League fans will undoubtedly recognise Richmond's home ground.
Much of the show is filmed across several locations in London, but what stadiums are used in Ted Lasso? Let's take a look.
What stadiums are used in Ted Lasso?
Multiple stadiums have been pictured in the two seasons of Ted Lasso thus far. However, the two most commonly seen are Selhurst Park and Beaconsfield Road.
The latter is home to Hayes & Yeading United who currently play in the Southern League Premier Division South, at tier seven of the football pyramid. Their ground, which is conveniently based next to West London studios, is used as AFC Richmond's training facility.
Selhurst Park (home to Crystal Palace), meanwhile, is used as the fictional club's home ground. In Ted Lasso, the stadium is called 'Nelson Road'.
Other recognisable grounds have also been used in filming. For example, Craven Cottage was used in Season 1 when Richmond won away at 'Everton', while both the London Stadium and Wembley have been pictured at different points in the first two series.
