Carabao Cup 2022/23 third round predictions
Predicting the outcome of these ties is difficult because you don't know how much each manager is going to rotate their starting pack.
Both Liverpool, Brentford, and Leicester will be expected to progress pretty comfortably, while Chelsea's current malaise should aid City in their third-round tie. You'd expect United to bounce back from Sunday's defeat at Villa with a victory over Emery's men in the cup, while Tottenham's rotated XI could struggle at Forest.
Arsenal's lack of depth may prove costly at home to Brighton, while Newcastle vs Crystal Palace is a toss-up. Allan Saint-Maximin should start after just returning from injury, however, which could tilt the tie in the Magpies' favour.
Overall, the draw has been kind to several Premier League sides, with their ties against lower-league opposition coming at home. That should see the top flight dominate the fourth-round draw.
