WSL team of the week: Gameweek 16 - Women's Football Weekend

The WSL took centre stage on Women's Football Weekend over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with six games producing incredible action.

There were so many top performers on display that two teams of the week were probably possible and Lauren Hemp, Lucia Garcia, Victoria Pelova, Emma Harries and more were dreadfully unlucky to miss out and would have been shoo-ins most other weeks.

WSL team of the week: Gameweek 16

GK: Courtney Brosnan (Everton) - Couldn't stop Katie Stengel from getting Liverpool's equaliser, but did make two crucial saves near the end to deny the visiting Reds all three points.

RB: Ona Batlle (Man Utd) - So consistently good and has a genuine claim to be labelled the best right-back in the world. Never gave West Ham a sniff and bagged an eighth WSL assist of the season.

CB: Millie Turner (Man Utd) - Repeatedly snuffed out West Ham chances at Old Trafford and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to clear danger.

CB: Alex Greenwood (Man City) - Organised things so well from the back in a momentous City win over the reigning champions. Passed out from the back like she usually does too.

LB: Laia Aleixandri (Man City) - Could have struggled against an in-form Lauren James, who ended up subbed in the first half. Instead, Chelsea got nothing going down that side.

CM: Kenza Dali (Aston Villa) - One of the signings of the season and added another goal to her personal tally as she ran the game for her team.

CM: Laura Coombs (Man City) - It was Filippa Angeldahl who scored the spectacular opener, but Coombs on the left of the midfield trio put in a huge shift that really stifled Chelsea.

CM: Kim Little (Arsenal) - Finished the north London dery with a goal and assist, having dictated the game, barely giving the ball away, and providing a foundtion for the handsome win.

RW: Alisha Lehmann (Aston Villa) - Not always the most consistent, but devastating as Villa tore Leicester apart. Scored both of her only two shots and set one up as well.

ST: Rachel Daly (Aston Villa) - Breathing down the neck of Khadija Shaw in the Golden Boot race after another two goals took her WSL tally for the season to 13.

LW: Caitlin Foord (Arsenal) - Made it a fourth WSL game in a row with a goal contribution, scoring twice against Tottenham, to cement her current purple patch of form.
