WSL team of the week: gameweek 17
The WSL signed off for the April international break after six more games on Saturday and Sunday took us one step closer to what is set to be a grandstand finish in the title race.
Manchester United were big winners in their early trip to Brighton, while Arsenal dealt Manchester City a blow in a tight comeback win, and Chelsea managed to convincingly get the job done against Aston Villa despite looking dead on their feet in the Champions League only days before.
At the bottom there was also change, as Leicester took advantage of Brighton’s defeat by beating Reading and moving out of the relegation zone for the first time since October.
Read on to see who made it into 90min’s latest WSL team of the week.

WSL team of the week - gameweek 17
GK: Mackenzie Arnold (West Ham) - Made a number of saves that contributed to the struggling Hammers securing a clean sheet and a point against an improving Liverpool.
RB: CJ Bott (Leicester) - Gave a dominant defensive performance for the Foxes in a must-win game that took them off the foot of the table. The New Zealander was also progressive with the ball.
CB: Grace Fisk (West Ham) - Another for West Ham who gave everything to keep Liverpool out. That included a crucial interception to stop Katie Stengel winning it late on for the Reds.
CB: Magdalena Eriksson (Chelsea) - Had a poor game against Lyon in midweek but stood up to be counted here in what could have been an upset waiting to happen against a good Aston Villa.
LB: Hannah Blundell (Man Utd) - Continued to put in a hard shift for United at Brighton, never wasting possession, tenacious in the tackle and keeping energy levels high.
CM: Frida Maanum (Arsenal) - So invaluable to the Gunners’ comeback effort. Scored the equalising goal and then had the quick thinking to lay a short corner to McCabe for the winner.
CM: Jelena Cankovic (Chelsea) - Made the most of a rare opportunity to start and is a testament to Chelsea’s squad depth at a vital point of the season. Finished with a goal and assist.
CM: Katie Zelem (Man Utd) - Set-piece delivery is such an asset for this United side and the captain put two goals on a plate for her teammates, as well as an intelligent performance off the ball.
RW: Katie McCabe (Arsenal) - Started at left-back but ended up switching to the right flank due to a first half injury reshuffle and it was there that she made her game-changing impact, including a contender for goal of the season to win it.
ST: Sam Kerr (Chelsea) - The Australian has looked exhausted at times in recent weeks but she popped up with her 50th WSL goal that boosted her team’s goal difference and could yet be vital.
LW: Leah Galton (Man Utd) - Seems to love playing against Brighton in particular and scored twice more against the Seagulls to leave United top of the WSL for the international break.
