Festive Premier League football? At Kenilworth 'The Kenny' Road? Oh, what a treat.
Saturday's lunchtime kick-off between Luton Town and Chelsea ticked all the boxes of a Premier League classic, and we were oh so nearly treated to one of the most remarkable comebacks in English football. Way to ruin it, Chelsea.
It wasn't an easy day to start with for Luton. After 12 minutes, Chelsea found the lead. Cole Palmer intercepted a poor pass from the back by Issa Kabore, taking advantage with a fine strike.
Cold Palmer is the best English player in the Premier League

Want to check Kaboré’s FPL team to see if Palmer is in there

Though Luton made a good account for themselves after going behind early doors, they conceded a second goal just before half-time, with Noni Madueke grabbing his second goal in two games.
This Noni Madueke revival is so joyous

Chelsea supporters respond with chants of "how sh** must you be, we're winning away." https://t.co/0lB4dYeioX

His current side were trailing, but Ross Barkley was putting on a fine display against his former team.
Barkley is proper levels. We can’t get near him.

It’s really funny watching Ross Barkley try a load of tricks to show Chelsea that he won the break up and hearing Luton fans having absolutely none of it over the broadcast

With 20 minutes of the second half remaining, Palmer added Chelsea's third in some style. After being slipped in behind by Nicolas Jackson, he managed to sit all of Thomas Kaminski, Gabriel Osho and Amari'i Bell on their backsides before rolling the ball into an empty net. Scrumptious.
Oh my word, Cole Palmer 😍 that is beautiful.

One of the signings of the summer. #CFC
What a talent Cole Palmer is. Two goals and one assist. Incredible performance today.

NO COLE PALMER. NO YOU CANNOT DO THAT.

THAT IS SUBLIME.
Luton thought they had pulled one back through Elijah Adebayo, but Alfie Doughty was ruled offside in the build-up.

Ex-Blue Barkley got on the scoresheet to set up a nervy finish as Kenilworth Road grew louder.

With stoppage time looming, Luton grabbed a second goal. The game was well and truly on.
of course #CFC couldn't make it easy for themselves. 3-2 now. #LUTCHE

Luton have the chance to do the funniest thing ever.

Chelsea are hanging on here. This is not comfortable at all.

Luton threw the kitchen sink at Chelsea but they just couldn't get the ball over the line one final time.
Luton have a lot of positives to take from that performance, especially these two ex United players. Tahith Chong completely changed the game, some brilliant turns and nice deliveries, whilst Teden Mengi did really well in terms of getting stuck in and holding his own in duels. pic.twitter.com/XfAxfdmi9p
