X reacts as Nunez & Jota send Liverpool top of the Premier League
- Liverpool moved top of the league with a 2-0 win over Burnley
- Darwin Nunez & Diogo Jota both on target for Jurgen Klopp's side
- Reds will remain top ahead of Arsenal's game in hand against West Ham on Thursday

Tuesday was a good day all round for Liverpool as a 2-0 win over Burnley saw them climb to the top of the Premier League table.
Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota were both on target in a win which could have been far more comfortable had Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott's strikes not been ruled out for a foul and offside respectively.
Nunez came into the game having not scored since November 1 but he needed just six minutes to slot home from the edge of the box here.
Those who wanted Darwin sold & shared crazy hate all these weeks please don’t celebrate that goal. That wasn’t for you.

Darwin doesn't do tap ins

Woohoo Darwin Nunez off the left. 🙌

That's the thing with Darwin I reckon. Give him no time and he'll score.

Burnley were their own worst enemies in the first half. While Liverpool's press was solid, the Clarets' insistence on playing out from the back was disastrous and could have easily led to a few more early goals.
watching this Burnley play makes my eyes hurt #burliv

Burnley never learn lol and they don't even play well enough to keep insisting like this, Sean Dyche didn't die for this

Indeed, it would have been a far greater lead for Liverpool had it not been for the heroics of Burnley stopper James Trafford.
The youngster already holds the record for most saves in a Premier League game this season (10) and looked set to break that in this one after making seven in the first half alone.
Should seriously be looking at James Trafford if Burnley drop this season.

Excellent with the ball at this feet too.
James Trafford is definitely a future England number 1. #BURLIV #PremierLeague

Having already seen Gakpo's goal chalked off for a controversial foul, Liverpool fans grew frustrated when Elliott's tap-in was belatedly ruled out by VAR as well.
Mohamed Salah, who was stood in an offside position, was deemed to be impeding Trafford's vision, although Reds supporters were quick to point out that the Egyptian may have been pushed into that spot in the first place.
VAR is really against Liverpool tonight

how elliott's goal is disallowed only god can tell me

VAR again showing biased footage to the referee. Shows the footage that Salah is offside. Don’t show the footage of him being pushed into that position.

Just as Burnley were threatening to get back into the game, substitute Diogo Jota extinguished the fire and sealed all three points.
That's now 50 Liverpool goals for Jota, who is gunning for a spot back in the starting lineup after a spell out with injury.
jota is 100% our second best attacker

Jota was out for a month and still scored before Hojlund pic.twitter.com/PikzV8BXAH
