Zinedine Zidane has insisted that he would like the opportunity to manage Kylian Mbappe one day.

Mbappe's tenure at Paris Saint-Germain could be coming to an end after indicating that he would not sign a new contract. His current deal is up in 2024.

90min understands that PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi held talks with Mbappe's agent and mother, Fayza Lamari, over his future.

The French champions do not want to lose the forward on a free transfer and so are prepared to sell him this summer if need be. Real Madrid retain a long-term interest in Mbappe.

Zidane, who has managed Real Madrid twice and has been consistently linked with the PSG and France jobs, has now admitted he would love to work with Mbappe, though did not specify which team he would be in charge of to make such a prospect a reality.

"When you're a manager and there is a player like him, of course, you'd want to manage him," Zidane said to L'Equipe. "Lots of things can happen. It could happen one day. He is a player that wears the France shirt well. In any case, I admire what he does. He's beautiful, strong."

Zidane has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid for a second time at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Despite constantly being tipped to take over at PSG, Luis Enrique is set to land the job this summer and his appointment could be confirmed in the coming ays.
