Zlatan Ibrahimovic's milestone goals as he hits 500
By Harry Symeou
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 500th and 501st career club goals during AC Milan's Serie A victory over Crotone on Sunday.
The 39-year-old, now enjoying his second spell with Milan, has won titles pretty much everywhere he has been and is one of football's all-time greatest strikers.
Here, 90min takes a look back at some of the previous milestones achieved by the great man himself.
50th goal
The Swedish forward scored his 50th career club goal for Ajax during an Eredivisie fixture against NAC Breda in which the Amsterdam-based club were beaten 4-2 way back in September 2003.
Just shy of a year later, Ibrahimovic was sold to Juventus for a fee of close to £15m - having scored a total of 48 goals in 110 appearances for the Dutch giants.
100th goal
Zlatan's 100th goal came during Inter's 3-1 win over Fiorentina in January 2007 and the Nerazzurri went on to win the Scudetto that season.
The striker saw his header from close range saved, following Dejan Stankovic's free-kick but was the first to react to the rebound and turned it in to secure the points for the Milan club
150th goal
Ibrahimovic had already scored from the spot after Esteban Cambiasso opened the scoring for Inter during a 3-0 win over Reggina back in March 2009.
However, his 150th goal came later on in the match when he rifled home a low shot from the edge of the penalty area to bag a brace.
200th goal
The player's 200th club career goal came during his first spell with AC Milan. In 2010, he returned from Barcelona to join Inter's city rivals initially on loan before signing for the Rossoneri a year later.
Ibrahimovic's milestone goal came in a Coppa Italia tie in which Milan were beaten 2-1 by Palermo in May 2011.
250th goal
His 250th goal came in a defeat at Nice and it was in the form of a driven free-kick from outside of the penalty area to draw PSG level.
300th goal
Ibrahimovic's 300th career club goal was scored in the League cup semi-final victory over Nantes in which he scored both of PSG's goals.
His first one, the milestone goal, came inside just five minutes when after a poor clearance from the opposition goalkeeper he lobbed him, with just one touch, from well outside of the penalty area at the Parc des Princes.
350th goal
Toulouse were his victims the day he netted his 350th goal. Again, the former Paris Saint-Germain star scored a brace and it was the second that saw him reach the aforementioned total.
Despite boasting a catalogue of wonderful goals, this one, in particular, was a simple finish after the Toulouse goalkeeper spilt an initial attempt from Lucas Moura. They all count.
400th goal
Goal number 400 came in the red of Manchester United during a win over Swansea City.
Yep, you've guessed it, Swansea City were also on the receiving end of a Zlatan brace. The Swedish star scored his first from the edge of the penalty area with a tidy finish into the bottom corner before combining with Wayne Rooney and powering into the penalty area to put the game beyond doubt.
450th goal
Following his spell at Old Trafford, Ibrahimovic moved to MLS where he played for LA Galaxy. He scored 53 goals in 58 appearances for the club and reached his next milestone with a goal against Real Salt Lake.
This strike came from close range with the striker turning in a low cross but proved to be a match winner after his side had seen their initial lead cancelled out by the opposition midway through the second period.
500th goal
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored goals number 500 and 501 during AC Milan's win over Crotone in Serie A on Sunday at the incredible age of 39 years old.
A fine achievement by a generational talent who has more often than not justified the arrogance with which he tends to carry himself.
