Best Premier League forwards - 2024/25 power rankings
- Premier League home to some of the world's most outstanding forwards
- Mohamed Salah the standout performer for league leaders Liverpool
- 2024/25 season power rankings fluctuates based on form over the campaign

Fans can appreciate those who prevent the goals from going in, but it's ultimately the folk doing the scoring who sell the tickets.
Fortunately, the Premier League is home to a fair few who know exactly where the back of the net is. The arrival of Erling Haaland has transcended what many once thought to be possible from a goalscoring perspective in this division and the Nordic superstar is on the prowl once again in 2024/25 despite Manchester City's struggles.
A deviation away from wingers who hit the byline and cross means wide players have emerged as regular scorers themselves and some of the league's finest inside forwards are among those challenging Haaland in the Golden Boot race.
90min ranks the Premier League's best forwards based on their 2024/25 performances.
5. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - New entry
Haaland couldn't quite match his record-breaking 2022/23 Premier League tally last season but a slight drop in standards mattered little as Man City secured another title. This year, things have been a tad different.
The Cityzens have been uncharacteristically ordinary, surrendering their Premier League crown following a confidence-sapping injury to talismanic defensive midfielder Rodri. They're not even certain of qualification for next year's Champions League.
But Haaland can hardly be blamed for Man City's difficulties, with the Scandinavian still providing goals at an eye-catching rate. He's surpassed 20 in the league already and continues to torment defences with his physicality.
4. Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) ⬆️
Few Premier League footballers are as underappreciated as Bryan Mbeumo. The Brentford winger has never produced fewer than 15 goal contributions in a season for the Bees and is enjoying a particularly prolific campaign out of Ivan Toney's sizeable shadow.
The powerful, robust and speedy Cameroon international is starting to attract attention from Europe's elite after dazzling in west London, with even the most agile left-backs struggling to keep Brentford's star under wraps.
He's already smashed his own personal Premier League goal tally for a campaign and isn't done yet.
3. Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) ↔️
Chris Wood is into his eighth season as a Premier League player and in five of those campaigns he's scored at least 10 goals or more - a record that nobody seems to be talking about.
Sure, those aren't title-winning numbers, but they do highlight just how effective Wood is at this level. Just ask current employers Nottingham Forest if you're still unsure.
The New Zealand international is bullying defences across the division with his physicality and has already produced a personal record Premier League goal haul this term for the Champions League hopefuls.
2. Alexander Isak (Newcastle) ↔️
After a fairly tame start to the season by his own lofty standards, Alexander Isak has burst into life over the past few months. Since the beginning of December, he has managed an astonishing 15 league goals, destroying centre-backs on a weekly basis.
Isak's lengthy strides and powerful right boot have proved too much for defenders to handle in 2024/25 and the Swede is leading Newcastle's impressive charge up the table.
He is closing in on last season's 21-goal Premier League tally and will be the difference-maker for Newcastle should they secure Champions League qualification. He's already helped them end their trophy drought by scoring in the Carabao Cup final.
1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) ↔️
Mohamed Salah has been simply inevitable for so many years and continues to deliver awe-inspiring displays and numbers.
The Egyptian is weirdly underestimated by some but remains Liverpool's talismanic figure - one that could yet have another Premier League title and Golden Boot in him before a potential Anfield exit.
Salah's goals and assists have been the decisive factor in Liverpool's rise to top spot and he continues to stake his claim for a place in the all-time Premier League XI following another astounding season.
He's been the best in the division this term. There can be no arguments about that.
