PSG predicted lineup vs Barcelona today - Champions League
- PSG boss Luis Enrique faces off against his former club
- Achraf Hakimi suspended for home side, causing potential issue at right-back
- Enrique could change tactics and revert to split forwards formation
A familiar foe awaits PSG manager Luis Enrique as Barcelona make the trip to the French capital for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
This matchup has been defined by Sergi Roberto's late goal to complete 'La Remontada' in 2017 - a comeback inspired by future PSG star Neymar and overseen by Enrique.
The Spaniard is set to claim a litany of silverware during his debut campaign in Paris, with the club keen to build a long-term project around Enrique once Kylian Mbappe departs in the summer. However, Mbappe remains critical to PSG's Champions League hopes, with the Frenchman's goals helping the Ligue 1 side bypass Real Sociedad in the round of 16.
More Spanish opposition await in the form of Barca, and here's the starting XI Enrique could pick for Wednesday's first leg.
PSG predicted lineup vs Barcelona (3-4-1-2)
GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma - The Italian has silently gone about his work this season, remaining one of Europe's premier shot-stoppers. Donnarumma recently produced a superb display as PSG downed Marseille in Le Classique.
CB: Milan Skriniar - With PSG lacking a natural right-back, Enrique could switch to a back three. Skriniar eventually developed into a fine back-three defender under Antonio Conte at Inter.
CB: Marquinhos - At this stage of his career, Marquinhos is well-suited to performing in the middle of a back three.
CB: Lucas Beraldo - The January signing was sent off against Marseille two weeks ago, but he's quickly established himself as a favourite in Enrique's book and Beraldo could get the nod over Lucas Hernandez.
RWB: Warren Zaire-Emery - With Achraf Hakimi suspended and Nordi Mukiele absent, Zaire-Emery might be shunted into a flexible wing-back role. The youngster has shown his competence in the role this season.
CM: Vitinha - Rested at the weekend, Vitinha is enjoying a superb season and there are no doubts about his inclusion on Wednesday.
CM: Fabian Ruiz - Manuel Ugarte has so far struggled in this competition, with Enrique more likely to favour the classy Fabian. The Spaniard aids PSG's build-up considerably.
LWB: Nuno Mendes - Zaire-Emery may be merely filling in, but Mendes is as good a wing-back out there. The Portuguese international starred for Ruben Amorim's Sporting CP in a back three.
AM: Ousmane Dembele - The first leg could be drenched in caution on both sides, with the hosts potentially using Dembele in a central creative position - as was the case against Real Sociedad. Dembele will be desperate to shine against his former club.
ST: Bradley Barcola - Barcola has enjoyed spurts of majestic form since joining the club from Lyon last summer. The young Frenchman could line up on the right side of PSG's split-striker frontline and work in close harmony with Zaire-Emery and Dembele.
ST: Kylian Mbappe - Can Mbappe deliver PSG the ultimate parting gift? He was the star of the round of 16, and he has fond memories of his duels with Barcelona.
