Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Oriane Jean-Francois, according to a report in France.

The London club begin a new era this summer under manager Sonia Bompastor following the departure of the long-serving Emma Hayes. After clinching a fifth consecutive WSL title last term, the new boss will be tasked with maintaining their dominance in the league, as well as taking them a step closer to success in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

In order to do so, links have already emerged with a number of top talents in Europe. Reports last week claimed Chelsea are close to signing PSG forward Sandy Baltimore, while they have also been named as strong contenders to sign Lucy Bronze as a free agent.

Now, Le Parisien claims they are set to raid PSG once again with the signing of midfielder Jean-Francois amid the 22-year-old turning down a contract extension in France to join the WSL club. A medical is believe to be imminent ahead of signing a three-year contract until 2027.

Jean-Francois signed for PSG from local rivals Paris FC in 2022, but injuries have limited the midfielder's game time. In fact, she missed most of 2023/24 after being stretchered off during a Champions League play-off against Manchester United back in October.

Meanwhile, arriving at PSG is set to be Mary Earps hand. Widespread reports this week claim the England international will not extend her Manchester United and will join on a free transfer. The French club are expected to make her the highest paid goalkeeper in the women's game.
