A 91st minute goal from Jude Bellingham sealed a 3-2 win for Real Madrid over El Clasico rivals Barcelona on Sunday evening.

The England star netted his third goal of the season against Barca in the dying embers of the game, sealing not only all three points but potentially the La Liga title too.

The win sees Madrid go a whopping 11 points clear of their arch rivals heading into the final few weeks of the 2023/24 season.

How the game unfolded

A rather sloppy opening five minutes from Real Madrid were duly capitalised upon by Barcelona, with the opening goal of the game coming courtesy of Andreas Christensen.

The ex-Chelsea man rose highest at the back post to nod home his third ever goal for La Blaugrana, capitalising upon Andriy Lunin missing an attempted punched clearance in order to do so.

That goal woke Madrid up, and Los Blancos began to press forward with real intent after going behind. After a few half-chances went begging, the home side were gifted their first real clear cut chance of the game when Lucas Vazquez was felled in the penalty area by and over-stretched Pau Cubarasi.

Up stepped Vinicius Junior to take the result spot kick, and he made no mistake with it - curling into the bottom right corner of the net past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

In the 25th minute, Barca would come within a whisker of retaking the lead from another corner kick. This time it was Robert Lewandowski who'd get his head on the set piece delivery, however he was unable to direct his effort from the edge of the six-yard box on target - ballooning it over the crossbar instead.

Madrid's woes from corner kicks continued a few minutes later, when a low delivery into the near post caused even more havoc in the Madrid box. Lamine Yamal's backheel flick at the near post almost caught Lunin out, with the Ukrainian just about scooping the ball clear of danger before it crossed the goal line.

Real Madrid looked notably rather knackered at the start of the second half, allowing Barca to take complete control of proceedings. The best chance of the period of domination for the visitors would fall to substitute Ferran Torres who, after being played through on goal following a quick counter attack, stabbed the ball past Lunin and just wide of the post.

Barca would eventually get their well deserved goal in the 68th minute through Fermin Lopez. The midfielder reacted quickest in the heart of the penalty area to latch onto a rebound to make it 2-1.

That lead didn't last too long, however, as once again Madrid were able to peg Barca back soon after.

This time the equaliser would come courtesy of Lucas Vazquez, who ghosted in behind Joao Cancelo at the back post to slide home a curling cross from Vincius Junior.

Astonishingly, Madrid would net a winner in the 91st minute of the game through Jude Bellingham.

The superstar midfielder reacted quickly on the left of the penalty area to slide home the ball after a Brahim Diaz cross found its way through two Barca defenders and into his path.
