This is becoming quite the occurence, isn't it, Real Madrid and Manchester City?

Los Blancos and the Cityzens have been drawn together in the Champions League for a third-successive season, and on every occasion they have delivered the goods.

The first leg of their quarter-final on Tuesday night ended 3-3, thanks in part to some of the best goals you'll see all year.

Here are the six strikes that flew in at the Santiago Bernabeu, ranked.

6. Ruben Dias' own goal

After Madrid went a goal down inside the opening two minutes, they managed to pull level when Eduardo Camavinga's strike took a huge deflection off of Ruben Dias.

Stefan Ortega was completely wrong-footed and City were pegged back by a goal out of nothing.

5. Rodrygo pokes Madrid in front

Minutes later, Madrid took a 2-1 lead at the end of a swift breakaway.

Vinicius Junior picked out compatriot Rodrygo with a searching ball in behind City's high line, with the winger skipping past Manuel Akanji before slowing down and then poking an effort back off the Swiss defender and beyond the helpless Ortega.

Pep Guardiola bemoaned the absence of Kyle Walker in the weeks leading up to this tie for this reason - only he has the pace to stop such Madrid's attacks.

4. Bernardo Silva's second-minute free-kick

Alright, let's get down to the serious goals.

The success of Madrid's season so far has been underpinned by squad players stepping up and more regular faces playing out of position due to their injury crisis.

But on a stage like this, that strength became a glaring weakness. Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni had to start at centre-back and hauled down Jack Grealish to pick up a 39th-second booking, which rules him out of next week's second leg.

From the resulting free-kick, stand-in goalkeeper Andriy Lunin was beaten by a sneaky effort from Bernardo Silva at the near post to give City an incredibly early lead with a fine piece of ingenuity.

3. Josko Gvardiol does *this* for no good reason

In any normal game, this thunderbolt from Josko Gvardiol would have gone down as the goal of the night.

Why is a lumbering left-footed centre-back who's stumbled in and out of the starting XI all season striking the ball in such a way on his weak foot during a Champions League knockout game away at Real Madrid Club de Futbol?

Why did this happen?

Are we in a game of Ultimate Team all of a sudden?

2. Phil Foden's showstopper

Just before Gvardiol restored City's advantage, they equalised in some style via the left peg of Phil Foden.

What better way to cement your status as one of the world's leading players than by finding the top corner of Madrid's net when the chips are down at the Santiago Bernabeu?

Foden barely had any time to wind up his strike and yet still gave Lunin absolutely no chance between the sticks. We are talking about a special superstar here.

1. Federico Valverde's dreamy volley

Much like Madrid on the night, we've saved the best until last.

Hope was fading for Carlo Ancelotti's men heading into the closing stages, but they still managed to pull one last rabbit out of the hat.

Vinicius pulled out to the left channel and threatened to deliver a cross into the box, but instead pulled it back further to Federico Valverde, who was making a late run.

The Uruguayan cocked his right leg like a shotgun and hit Vinicius' ball first-time on the volley, lashing it into the far corner in a split second to round off the night's scoring.
