Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Villarreal - La Liga
- Real Madrid travel to Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday
- Carlo Ancelotti has managed his squad masterfully this season
- Madrid likely to be without Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal
Real Madrid's penultimate game of a memorable La Liga season sees them travel to Marcelino's Villarreal.
El Submarino Amarillo have found their best form too late in the season to secure a European spot for next year but will be confident of inflicting just a second league defeat upon Madrid this term.
Carlo Ancelotti's squad management has been excellent all campaign and the Italian has handed minutes to members on the periphery since Madrid were crowned champions. There should be more rotation from Wednesday night's team which thrashed Alaves 5-0 at the Bernabeu.
Here's the Madrid line up that could start in Villarreal on Sunday evening.
Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Villarreal (4-3-1-2)
GK: Thibaut Courtois - Courtois hasn't been particularly busy during his last two outings, keeping clean sheets in both. However, the Belgian produced a couple of excellent saves in Wednesday's win over Alaves.
RB: Lucas Vazquez - With Dani Carvajal a doubt with a muscle injury, he almost certainly won't be risked. Vazquez, who's set to receive a new contract offer from the club, should come into the side.
CB: Antonio Rudiger - Ancelotti has brought nailed-on Champions League final starter Rudiger in and out of the side in recent weeks. The German was used off the bench last time out.
CB: Nacho Fernandez - The Spaniard has enjoyed a fine campaign and could continue at the heart of the defence. He's playing for a spot alongside Rudiger at Wembley.
LB: Fran Garcia - Ferland Mendy's stellar season has been rewarded with a call-up to France's Euro 2024 squad. Mendy could sit out on Sunday with Ancelotti bringing in his deputy, the spritely Garcia.
DM: Eduardo Camavinga - Camavinga should continue at the base of midfield in Aurelien Tchouameni's absence.
CM: Federico Valverde - Madrid's iron man is poised for another start at the weekend, although Ancelotti has the options in reserve to rotate Valverde when necessary.
CM: Jude Bellingham - There are murmurs of Bellingham being used in a deeper role once Kylian Mbappe joins the Madrid party. Perhaps Ancelotti could oversee a trial run on Sunday.
AM: Arda Guler - Guler's making up for lost time having missed much of his debut season in Madrid through injury. The Turkey international has four goals in his previous six appearances and is reportedly set to start Madrid's final two La Liga games.
ST: Rodrygo - Rodrygo hasn't scored in four games but was impressive in midweek. Ancelotti will hope he finds the net before the 1 June final.
ST: Vinicius Junior - The Brazilian recorded another brace on Wednesday to take his La Liga tally for the season up to 15. Vinicius would have undoubtedly been a contender for the Pichichi had he enjoyed an injury-free campaign.
