Fans invaded the pitch during Saturday's Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid after a content creator offered a hefty sum to those that could make it past security.

Saturday's showdown between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund was put on pause less than a minute in when three individuals - all wearing shirts bearing the word 'MELLSTROY' - dashed onto the field.

One of the intruders approached several Madrid players, to take selfies, while another was intercepted by Dortmund midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. Eventually, the trio were escorted off the field by security personnel.

It has been reported that Mellstroy, a vlogger whose real name is Andrey Burim, had pledged a substantial £300,000 sum to the first person able to make it onto the Wembley grass while sporting a jersey featuring his name.

The Belarusian creator captures content on streaming platform Kick, where welcomes nearly 500,000 followers.

Despite the orchestrated incident threatening to overshadow the season's biggest match, football swiftly reclaimed the spotlight during an enthralling first half, characterised by Dortmund spurning several glaring chances.

Regrettably for Edin Terzic's men, their failure to capitalise in the opening 45 minutes proved costly, as Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior's goals in the second half propelled Carlo Ancelotti's side to a record European title.
