Robert Lewandowski appears unlikely to miss Barcelona's rearranged La Liga game with Osasuna on Thursday night, despite nursing a minor injury through the international break.

Lewandowski has been struggling with what he himself described as "some problems" in recent Barca fixtures. He started for Poland in their World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania last Friday, but was withdrawn before the end as a precaution.

The issue was played down by Poland coach Michal Probierz as "nothing serious" and not a new problem. Lewandowski didn't start against Malta on Monday but did feature from the bench and later provided a positive fitness update when later discussing the situation.

"There's no injury, sometimes something hurts for two or three days, sometimes it goes away. Everything was fine, today I came in without any problems," Lewandowski told reporters.

"I feel much better than before the training camp, because I had some discomfort in the last three games, for example, I couldn't kick with my right leg even once, during the warm-ups. Now, everything is back to normal, so it's a plus that I’m back to the fitness I had two or three weeks ago.

"I prepared for the end of the season to maintain that freshness. I knew this season would be different than usual, because in January there was the Champions League. I'm not going to lie. Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought about giving everything during these last two, two and a half months and maintaining this freshness and dynamic."

The Osasuna fixture comes very quickly after the international break. But even if Hansi Flick doesn’t wish to risk Lewandowski, Mundo Deportivo reported at the weekend that isn’t considered a major issue due to having Ferran Torres as a capable alternative.

The Spain international has scored three times off the bench in the last three La Liga games, albeit as a wide forward. But has also filled in centrally this season as well.

The game is Barcelona's outstanding fixture, which has the potential to open up a three-point cushion on Real Madrid at the top of the table.
