Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has sent a hilarious message to left-back Luke Shaw as he prepares for Sunday's Euro 2024 final.

Red Devils star Shaw battled regular injuries throughout the 2023/24 domestic campaign and has struggled to regain his fitness while on international duty at Euro 2024. The left-back has featured in just two of England's five matches in Germany, coming on in the second half against both Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Both of his substitutions have come as welcome news to England fans, who have long called for balance on the left side of the pitch - with Newcastle's Kieran Trippier occupying the left-back role in Shaw's place.

Ahead of the Three Lions' huge clash with Spain on Sunday night, Ratcliffe poked fun at Shaw's injury record by urging the left-back to keep himself healthy during the game.

As part of a montage video from BBC Sport, the INEOS chief said: "All the very best of luck on Sunday and I sincerely hope that you are successful. Luke, please don't pull your hamstring again."

Shaw made just his second appearance since February during England's semi-final clash with the Netherlands, playing 45 minutes of their dramatic 2-1 victory in Dortmund. His introduction to the team brought immediate balance to the pitch, allowing players to advance with attacking confidence.

England's success so far in the tournament has guaranteed them a place in Sunday's final, where they will face Spain and hope to bring an end to their wait for European silverware.

Elsewhere at United, fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia is back at Carrington to continue his individual training programme as he seeks to return from the knee injury which kept him sidelined for the entirety of last season.
