Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both interested in Red Bull Salzburg centre-back Oumar Solet, 90min understands.
The 24-year-old has impressed since joining from Lyon in 2020 and now, as he approaches the final 12 months of his contract with the Austrian side, is attracting interest from teams across the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A.
In England, United are monitoring Solet as a potential target as they head into a summer which will see Raphael Varane depart on a free transfer.
Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans also face uncertain futures at Old Trafford, leaving centre-back as a priority area of recruitment during Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS' first transfer window in charge.
Solet is also on the radars of Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United, all of whom have explored a possible move for the towering defender.
The interest in Solet is perhaps strongest in the Bundesliga, where Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen have all sent scouts to follow his performances in recent months.
Officials from Stuttgart and Wolfsburg have also watched Solet as they draw up their respective transfer shortlists.
Solet came close to a transfer to one of Europe's main leagues in January, when both Napoli and Lens pushed for his signature, and the two clubs are understood to remain keen on a summer switch. Roma, Lille and Nice have also made their interest known.
After making four appearances for Lyon, Solet has blossomed into a top talent in the Austrian top flight, racking up over 100 appearances for Salzburg and securing three league titles.
