Isago Silva, the 16-year-old son of former Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva, continued his quest to follow in his father's footsteps on Saturday as he made his debut for the Blues' Under-18 side.
Isago joined Chelsea's youth ranks alongside younger brother Iago when their father made the move to Stamford Bridge in 2020 and have remained in the Blues' academy ranks even after Thiago's departure to Fluminense in the summer of 2024.
Usually a member of Chelsea's Under-16 side, Isago made his first appearance for an incredibly young Under-18 outfit on Saturday in a comfortable 3-1 win over Leicester City, coming off the bench for the final 25 minutes.
The sight of Isago rising up the ranks will be a welcome one for Thiago who, as he bid farewell to those in attendance at the end of last season, admitted it was his "dream" to see his children represent Chelsea one day.
There is clearly a long way to go before Isago and Under-14 regular Iago can think about turning out for the seniors, but Under-18s manager Hassan Sulaiman has been keen to provide plenty of youngsters with the chance to play above their age group this season.
There were 13 schoolboys in the Chelsea squad to face Leicester, with five Under-16s and four Under-15s in the starting lineup, while there was even an appearance off the bench for Under-14 midfielder Trey Faromo.
Thiago Silva established himself as a firm fan-favourite during his time at Chelsea - his outspoken wife Belle also endeared herself to supporters, if not the club's managers - making 155 appearances over four years and playing a crucial role in the 2020/21 Champions League triumph.
