Tottenham dealt concerning Dominic Solanke injury blow
- Dominic Solanke is out of Tottenham's clash with Everton on Saturday after picking up ankle issue
- England international made Spurs debut in 1-1 draw at Leicester on Monday
- Rodrigo Bentancur also absent after suffering head injury
Ange Postecoglou has revealed Dominic Solanke will not play in Tottenham Hotspur's second Premier League game of the season against Everton after suffering an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw at Leicester City on Monday.
The striker was thrown into Spurs' starting XI after signing from Bournemouth in a £65m transfer, impressing with his link-up play but missing the clinical touch in front of goal needed to help Spurs extend their lead at the King Power Stadium.
Pedro Porro had opened the scoring with a header before Jamie Vardy nodded in the Foxes' equaliser in the second half.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Everton, Postecoglou revealed: "Dom picked up a knock in the last game. He got through the game but it flared up the day after and he'll miss the game tomorrow.
"It's an ankle injury, he copped it really early on, someone went across his ankle. It just depends on his recovery [when he returns], obviously we've got the international break, but it's not serious."
Solanke's absence could open up an opportunity for Richarlison to start against his former club. The Brazilian scored three goals in his two appearances against the Toffees last season.
Postecoglou also revealed midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur will be absent on Saturday after suffering a blow to the head but added Porro is fit to start despite a fitness scare.
He added: "Irrespective of concussion protocols, any head injury we've always got to be more conservative from my perspective. He's bounced back really well, he's done all the tests and feels good but we'll take our time with Rodrigo to make sure he's absolutely 100% before we put him out there again.
"It's unfortunate for Rodrigo as he had a good game on Monday night. Biss [Yves Bissouma] is available but we've got other options there. Pedro is fine, he trained this week and we have no other concerns."
