Ange Postecoglou has installed some sturdy foundations in N17, but it'll be up to the Australian and his squad to build upon them in 2024/25.

Tottenham's unlikely title dream at the start of the former Celtic boss' tenure was quickly dashed following a fateful November night against Chelsea and it's fair to say Spurs didn't get back to their previous exuberant levels after they lost James Maddison and Micky van de Ven to injuries.

Both returned long before the season's end but a stuttering finale to Postecoglou's debut season means the Lilywhites will be competing in the new-look Europa League and not the Champions League next term. Still, there's plenty of scope for optimism among Spurs supporters.

Here are Tottenham's pre-season plans ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Rather confusingly, Tottenham actually played their first friendly on 22 May against Newcastle United - just three days after the Premier League season ended. However, that technically counted as a 2023/24 post-season fixture rather than a 2024/25 pre-season game.

The Lilywhites announced in April that they would be heading to Japan as part of their pre-season in July, travelling to the country for the first time in 33 years. Postecoglou's squad then travelled across to South Korea for two friendlies against a K-League All Stars team and Bayern Munich in Seoul.

There was a healthy dose of first team stars that journeyed to the Far East, although Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Giovani Lo Celso were among those that missed the trip.

Fraser Forster continues to nurse a foot injury, while Bryan Gil and Sergio Reguilon were left at home to help them secure exits - Gil has joined Girona on loan.

Postecoglou has already handed Tottenham's exciting youngsters plenty of minutes throughout pre-season, with Mikey Moore, new arrival Lucas Bergvall, and Jamie Donley having shone brightest.

Tottenham pre-season 2024/25 confirmed schedule

Spurs got their pre-season campaign underway against Hearts in Edinburgh. It was a clinical outing for Postecoglou's outfit, with four goals arriving in the second half. Brennan Johnson opened the scoring in the first 45 minutes before Will Lankshear, Moore, Djed Spence and Ashley Phillips all got in on the act in a 5-1 win.

Tottenham then claimed a 2-0 win over Championship side Queens Park Rangers in west London and are now preparing for their summer tour. Yves Bissouma and Dane Scarlett got themselves on the scoresheet at Loftus Road.

They kicked off their Asian adventure with an exciting 3-2 win over Japanese outfit Vissel Kobe. Moore once again found the back of the net, scoring an 88th-minute winner following earlier goals from Pedro Porro and Heung-min Son.

Spurs' clash with K-League All Stars was similarly entertaining. The Lilywhites won 4-3 and found themselves three goals to the good at the break. While they let their opponents back into the game after the restart, Will Lankshear's goal ensured that they maintained their perfect pre-season record.

The first of two meetings with Bayern Munich ended in a 2-1 defeat in Seoul. A beautiful Pedro Porro strike wasn't enough to earn Spurs a draw following goals from Gabriel Vidovic and Leon Goretzka. The second clash takes place on 10 August in north London, with Harry Kane and Eric Dier returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time since recent exits.
