Trent Alexander-Arnold has insisted he will not discuss any details of his contract talks with Liverpool but did not shy away from stressing his excitement towards a future under new manager Arne Slot.

The right-back is approaching the final six months of his current contract and is the subject of significant interest from Real Madrid, with a recent report claiming he has been "seduced" by the idea of heading to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Liverpool have spoken with Alexander-Arnold about his contract situation and the 26-year-old insisted all details of those discussions will remain private.

"I have been at the club 20 years now, I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public - and this one won't be either," Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports News.

However, when discussing his thoughts on Slot, Alexander-Arnold made it abundantly clear that he is incredibly happy with life under the Dutchman and hinted he is already thinking about what the future holds in this new era.

"The level of detail he has... I find myself smiling about it because that's the kind of thing that I really enjoy," Alexander-Arnold said. "It's just football in like a very, very in-depth level.

"I could tell from the first time I met him that I was going to enjoy playing under him and being a part of this. I'm feeling like I'm going to get better and improve and learn so much in such a short space of time and just keep on learning, because I could tell he was football obsessed and the level of detail was incredible."

Alexander-Arnold also confessed he hopes to hit 100 assists for Liverpool which, considering he currently sits on 83, can been interpreted as more of a long-term plan.

"To be honest, I never thought I'd ever hit numbers like that," he said. "They were never an aim for me to reach 100 assists or break records in that respect. But, the more you play, the more extravagant your dreams and ambitions become. So yeah, that'll probably be the next thing: I try to hit that 100."
