The full financial package involved in Vitor Roque's move from Barcelona to Palmeiras has been revealed.
Signed in the summer of 2023 for an initial €30m (£24.8m), Roque moved to Barcelona in January 2024 but struggled horribly for minutes and ultimately left to join Real Betis on loan in the summer. Palmeiras pushed for a permanent transfer, however, and an agreement was eventually reached between all parties to send Roque to the Brazilian side.
According to MARCA, Barcelona will pocket an immediate €25m (£20.6m), with a further €5m (£4.1m) in achievable add-ons.
Among the bonuses are a fee if Roque is among the top three players at a World Cup and a payment if the striker plays at least 60% of the minutes in a Copa Libertadores-winning campaign. Other add-ons relate to the general success of Palmeiras during Roque's time at the club.
There could also be further payment down the line as Barcelona have retained a 20% sell-on clause for Roque's next move.
It means the deal has the potential to be worth more than the €30m Barcelona paid to sign Roque back in 2023.
Barcelona's initial deal to sign Roque included a further €31m in add-ons but the report stresses those bonuses were not triggered, leaving Barcelona's expense at the up-front €30m fee.
