Why Arne Slot will be on the touchline for Liverpool against PSG

- Suspension from FA does not carry over into UEFA competitions

Liverpool have taken great strides towards Premier League glory under Arne Slot, and their quest for continental glory will soon continue.
The Reds were imperious throughout the all-new Champions League league phase, with their sole defeat arriving on Matchday 8 with a spot in the round of 16 already secure.
However, they weren't exactly rewarded for topping the table. Instead of facing Benfica in the last 16, Liverpool take on one of Europe's form teams in Paris Saint-Germain over two legs.
We learned last month that Slot must serve a two-game touchline ban for his conduct towards referee Michael Oliver after a recent Merseyside derby draw. But the Dutchman will be marauding the away dugout at the Parc des Princes against PSG this week.
Why Arne Slot is not suspended for PSG vs Liverpool
The FA took a couple of weeks to deliberate after Slot was sent off by referee Oliver after the full-time whistle, eventually deciding upon a two-game suspension and a £70,000 fine. Assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff has received the same punishment (although he was only fined £7,000).
As a result, the pair were not allowed on the touchline for Liverpool's Premier League games against Newcastle last Wednesday night, nor will they be for Southampton's upcoming visit on 8 March.
In between those games, though, the Reds travel to Paris for the opening leg of their round of 16 tie. As it is a domestic suspension dished out by the FA, his suspension, as is also the case with players, it does not carry over into any UEFA competition - the Champions League in this instance.
The Liverpool manager will be back in domestic action on the sideline for the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium against Newcastle on 16 March.
