X reacts as injury-ravaged Man Utd slide to embarrassing defeat at Crystal Palace
- Man Utd were thrashed by Crystal Palace on Monday night
- Michael Olise among the star performers as Eagles tormented Red Devils
- Social media was not impressed by Erik ten Hag's visitors

Manchester United have had another season to forget in the Premier League and their injury-ravaged squad could do little to avoid sliding to defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Bruno Fernandes was the latest Red Devil to succumb to fitness issues, leaving a patched-up midfield and defence clueless in the face of an aggressive and cohesive Eagles outfit.
Having so many players out injured is hardly ideal, but those who were fit enough to play completely dishonoured themselves and their increasingly disheveled manager Erik ten Hag, who could offer little more than a stony expression on the touchline.
It ended 4-0, with Palace taking advantage of United's glaring weaknesses with two goals in the opening 45 minutes.
Michael Olise dribbled past Casemiro and struck home from the edge of the box before Jean-Philippe Mateta ran beyond Jonny Evans and thundered in at the near post.
The Red Devils once again lacked any visible identify, a feat made worse by the fact that Palace boss Oliver Glasner only took over in February. Casemiro could show no leadership or put any of his vast experience to use in one of his worst games ever, while Jonny Evans looked incredibly short of match fitness after a month out.
Understandably, Man Utd fans made some damning assessments at half-time.
Yeah United are coming 8th. They’re done

This is the absolute best thing for United btw. Can’t rely on European income so they will HAVE to force change. Trim the wage bill down, shift players who were only there for European football and start again.

Reckon Casemiro might be the first player in Barclays history to have to come off with a stitch tonight.

We'd genuinely be close to the relegation zone if it wasn't for some moments of "individual brilliance"

This is the worst I've ever since this club. And it's not down to players downing tools, we're simply an awfully set up team, with or without injuries.
Glasner been there for a week and you can already see an identity compared to Ten Hags 2 years but you still have man defending him

Absolutely awful first-half for @ManUtd. Barely a redeeming feature. Outplayed. Had ball in net but they hardly ever get given.

I gotta give credit where it’s due. Looking at that goal, ETH definitely adjusted his tactics. We went from a donut midfield, to a donut back 4

United are incredibly lucky to have been in the top six all season, it’s created a false image of how good they supposedly are. All the while, Ten Hag hasn’t tried to a) cement a clear style or b) stop the bleeding. Hasn’t even come close to either.

Ten Hag went back into the visiting changing room at half-time with the hope of galvanising his troops - perhaps using the famous Football Manager line 'Good luck lads!' - but his words came to no avail as Palace bagged two more goals during the second half.
Tyrick Mitchell was on hard to convert from close range before Olise whacked in another from distance, catching goalkeeper Andre Onana awkwardly out of position.
If things were bad at 2-0, they were utterly shambolic at 4-0.
Plenty of things you can point out about United that you’d say need to change, but my word Onana has been an unmitigated disaster all things considered.

This is an absolute pasting. Really feels very end of days.

I can't stress this enough - Man United have been woeful in the first 60 minutes of this game. Palace have taken their chances and won important blocks in the middle of the pitch, but the defending from the away side has been shambolic #CPFC

So where on earth does this new nadir leave Ten Hag? The Dutchman has done little to impress new investors Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe may well have been feeling twitchy watching his new club sink to such a low.
With Arsenal up next, how much longer has Ten Hag got at Old Trafford?
Wonder if Erik ten Hag will still be in charge until the end of the season, at this point. Manchester United’s next 3 games aren’t quite easy ones and the FA Cup final against Man City already looks like the last chance to get to Europe. Good luck with that 🫣

If Sir Jim Ratcliffe thought Old Trafford was a scruffy disgrace just wait until he watches the football team.

How does Ten Hag get himself out of this tricky situation? 👀 pic.twitter.com/0JWRzVEruB
Although...maybe...just maybe...they go and win at Arsenal next week? This is Manchester United we're talking about, after all, right?
Man United are going to get battered tonight and then beat Arsenal 3-2 on Sunday with a Bruno Fernandes penalty and an Antony winner in the 92nd minute.
